Super Saturday - Emergency Candles

Since we live in the Pacific NW, power outages are a fact of life. The Emergency Candles Super Saturday activity is both fun and practical. It is inspired by a comment in relief society a few weeks ago. If you make this craft, your days of frantically searching in the dark for candles or a flashlight are over. You can keep candles and matches conveniently stored together in a jar that doubles as a candle holder. Genius!

Cost $3

Super Saturday - Glass Etching

Next on the list - Glass Etching.

Our very own talented, artistic college student, home for the summer, will be helping us with glass etching on Super Saturday. She has plenty of stencils and designs available to choose your pattern from.

Please bring your own, clean glassware for etching. Generally, the etching takes better to newer glass rather than old glass. The cost for this activity is $3. Sign-up on Sunday or email me.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Super Saturday - Cards in a Jar

My next Super Saturday highlight is Cards in a Jar. If you sign up for this activity, you will take home a decorative jar full of colorful, handcrafted cards for every occasion.

****IMPORTANT NOTE****

Pam and Merry will cut and prepare all the paper in advance of Super Saturday, so all you will have to do is assemble and glue your cards. To give them as much time as possible, we would like to have a count by this Sunday, June 21. Please sign up at church on Sunday or email me at the address listed on the side bar.

****

The cost for this activity is $10. It covers the jar, paper and materials necessary to create the cards and decorate the jar, cut out and ready to be assembled. To keep things efficient on Super Saturday morning, please bring your own glue stick or tape.

Homemade cards provide a personal touch to every gift and occasion. Don't miss out on this activity! Please sign up or email me by this Sunday.

Super Saturday - Corn Cozies

Soothe your aches and pains by making your own microwave heating pad. It makes a great gift as well!

This will be a fun and easy activity. It consists of filling a fabric bag (approximately 3x6 inches) full of feed corn and sewing it closed. A variety of cute fabric will be available to choose from, and we will have a few sewing machines set up for your use. However, feel free to bring your own machine if you would like.

The cost for this activity is $2. Sign-up in the relief society room or email me at the address listed on the side bar.

Super Saturday - Glass Block

Hello!

We now have the Super Saturday table up in Relief Society. If you didn't have a chance to see it last Sunday, make sure to look for it this Sunday. Here are the crafts we are doing:
  • Cards in a Jar
  • Popcorn Heating Packs
  • Soup Mix in a Jar
  • Glass Etching
  • Glass Blocks
  • Emergency Candles
  • Refreshing summer smoothies
I will highlight the crafts individually over the next week or so (both on this blog and on Sundays).

My first highlight is the glass block.

This is perfect for Christmas. The actual blocks we will make will vary slightly from this picture. We will be using 8x6 blocks and the ribbon will be different, but just as festive.

My handy-man hubbie will be drilling holes in the back of all the blocks so you can insert a strand of Christmas light if you would like.

The total cost for this activity will be $10. That price includes the glass block, vinyl lettering, and ribbon. (You will need to provide your own lights).

I'm ordering the vinyl lettering, so I will need a final count, if possible, by June 23. Sign-up in the relief society room, or feel free to send me an email at the address listed on the sidebar.

As always, please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments.

It's a Tuesday...make it a good one.

SUPER SATURDAY!

Super Saturday is July 11 from 9-1.

Lunch will be served, and the nursery will be available.

Stay tuned for posts about our activities and crafts. They are awesome!

Welcome!

Hello sisters! I'm the new enrichment leader. I started this blog to keep you all posted on the upcoming enrichment activities. I also know quite a few of you have personal and family blogs. I thought this would be a good place to post a link to all the Fanno Creek blogs. Please email me at fannocreekenrichment (at) gmail (dot) com if you'd like your blog listed!

On to a few housekeeping matters. I'm a bit concerned about privacy, so I use the handle "Yin" out here in the wild interwebs. To the extent necessary, I will only use first names or handles when mentioning other FC sisters. Please do the same in your comments. Thanks!
